Overview
Electrical and Electronics Engineering has a very valuable heritage of teaching and research. In EX, there is growing awareness that the future training and education of electrical engineers in the industry needs to be in the area of highly efficient, industry-relevant skills formation, to enable frequent and rapid deployment of professional skills in new areas.
The department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering was established during the inception of the institute in 2003. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training, and research at the undergraduate level in various areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with broad emphasis such as Integrated Electronics and Circuits, Machines, Control & Automation, Power Systems & Power Electronics.
For the employability enhancement of engineering students, additional certification courses on relevant industry-related topics are organized. EX Department has organized a course on ‘Industrial Automation and Control’ in association with NPTEL. Video lectures of the courses are available through NPTEL and a workshop & lab for PLC is provided in the department. In addition to that faculty members dedicated to the course support the students in understanding the subject details and assignment solutions.
An expert Lecture was conducted for students of the EX department on “Energy Saving using Variable speed drives and their application in the industry”.
This expert lecture was conducted by Sri Nikhil Kaushik associated with PCRA-Petroleum Conservation & Research Association in 21-FEB-2018. The contents delivered were very interesting and have sensitized our students with respect to saving that can be achieved by proper management.
