Top 10 Engineering Entrance Exams in India 2022-23

Entrance exams are a game of chances and hard work. It requires tremendous effort to compete nationally or internationally. Months and years of preparation and determination are required to clear an entrance exam. It is a golden opportunity for a brighter future and getting into a prosperous college and career. 

One of the most prominent and hardest entrance exams is inclusive of the field of engineering. It requires the students to prepare since their school days, give their hundred percent effort, and multiple hours of studying. But what examinations do these students prepare for? Some of the top engineering entrance exams are listed below.

JEE Main 

JEE Main is held in a computer-based mode except for section 2 of the B.Arch. It is a three-hour-long paper conducted by National Testing Agency to get admissions into the most prestigious institutes such as IITs and NITs. 

BITSAT

The university-level engineering entrance examination is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Approximately 2 lakh students appear for this entrance examination every year while eligible applicants are directed to 3 of the BITS campuses. It is also a 3-hour long paper divided into LR, English Proficiency, Physics, and Chemistry. 

MET      

Another university-level examination known as the Manipal Entrance Test, is conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education for 150 minutes. It is an objective-based examination that if cracked makes the applicant eligible for 16 engineering causes. 

SRMJEE

SRM Institute of Science and Technology conducts Joint Engineering Entrance Examination.  The exam consists of 125 questions. Top 1000 IIT JEE rank holders are provided direct admission to the university.

VITEEE 

VIT University conducts the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination every year in which approximately 2 lakhs students appear and 5000 seats are allotted. The examination is conducted online and is objective. It is to be answered in 21/2 hours with sections divided into Physics, Aptitude. Mathematics and English. 

COMEDK UGET 

This examination is conducted by a consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. COMEDK UGET is offered and organized in various parts across India. Approximately 20000 seats are offered and the exam is based on the syllabus of 10+2 standard. It is a 3-hour long examination. 

SITEEE

Symbiosis Institute of Technology conducts the Symbiosis Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination. Apart from SITEE qualified candidates, JEE Main and MHT CET-qualified candidates are also eligible for the course. SITEE is of 200 marks and consists of 100 questions. It is 2.5 hours in duration.

AMUEEE

Aligarh Muslim University conducts the entrance examination for BTech programs. The examination is based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and consists of 150 questions for three hours duration. 

MHT CET 

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for first-year BTech/BE students is conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai. Students of class 12th residents of Maharashtra are eligible for the admission test that is held in a pen-and-paper manner. 

KIITEE

KIITEE is conducted by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology offering admission tests for Btech programmes. KIITEE is taken online and is divided into 3 sections Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 

All of these examinations either hold central or state values and make the student eligible for admission to prominent institutions. Some of these examinations are a tough nut to crack but all require significant effort.
