Importance Of The NEET Exam
The NEET exam’s importance is solidified by the statistics, which state that nearly 20 lakh students appeared for this exam in 2023. The exam is accepted by all institutions in India because of its proper way of testing the candidate, in all disciplines.
NEET is important for MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery), and even Ayurveda programs. Thus, NEET is important for all students in India who wish to become doctors.
NEET is important for BSc Nursing as well but not a necessity. There are many colleges in India that offer courses in nursing and have their own entrance exams that students need to clear. Thus, NEET is not a must for pursuing a course in nursing.
Difficulty Level Of The NEET Exam
The NEET exam is moderately difficult. Some parts are easy so that most of the students can get marks, while nearly 10–15 questions are made challenging. According to a survey, most students in 2023 found the Physics section to be more difficult as compared to the Chemistry and Biology sections.
NEET is no doubt, a tough and challenging exam, but by referring to the right books and having the right strategy, the exam can be passed with flying colours.
Five Tips To Crack The NEET Exam
Tip 1 Follow A Timetable
To crack any exam, it is a must for students to make a realistic study routine and follow it diligently. Students should also ensure that their timetable gives them adequate time to rest, sleep, and indulge in recreational activities.
Tip 2 Be Aware Of The Syllabus
Students who give their 12th Board Exams while preparing for the NEET exam often get confused with the syllabus of the two and, as a result, make mistakes. The syllabus of both the exams is similar but not same. Thus, it is important for NEET aspirants to be familiar with the syllabus.
Tip 3 Make Your Own Notes
Students often refer to their coaching material and topper’s notes when preparing for the NEET exam. But this is not very beneficial, as self-made notes are more accurate and reflect small variations that might occur in the syllabus every year.
Tip 4 Practice PYQs
Practising Previous Year Questions (PYQs) is very important for any competitive exam. Often, the previous year’s questions are repeated, which can give students who have practised them an upper edge. Setting a timer while solving PYQs or Mock tests is an excellent way of analysing the speed of the aspirant.
Tip 5 Revise
Students are often doing multiple things while preparing for NEET, and thus, revision becomes a must. Students should come back to the old chapters time and again to revise them.
