How Jugal Nagar Prepared for Campus Drive and Grabbed 42 LPA from Microsoft

STARTED PREPARATION FOR PLACEMENT

Placements in the MNCs with good packages are like a dream come true. But to get a job in MNCs is not too easy. Multi-national companies wanted the best employees for their job profile so their selection process is tough than others but with the right planning and dedication work, we can be placed in Multi-national companies

BGI  Being one of the top colleges, there was no scarcity of top placement companies at all. Companies kept on coming from the 6 semesters and students from the BGI got chances to attend the campus drive. I started preparation for placement right from the beginning. “I always targeted top companies for placement and worked hard to succeed in it”.

The placement session for any company generally has 4 – 6 rounds. The first round is the written test, consisting of quantitative aptitude, other are Technical Round and HR.

Microsoft has its process to select students.

MICROSOFT RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Online Round
  • Onsite Round
  • Technical Round 1
  • Technical Round 2
  • Technical Round 3 (System Design Round)
  • Technical-cum-HR round

Some companies avoid a few procedures and some others add one or two extras but if you see the general criteria are the same. These combinations of tests are conducted because MNCs want to test your aptitude skill along with coding, and also check your communication skills.

MOST IMPORTANT ROUND

After qualifying for the written test most of the students got rejected from the face-to-face round. In the face-to-face rounds with the interviewer and passing through these rounds, one should have good knowledge regarding the subjects and facts mentioned in the CV.

The questions are generally asked about the projects, language, hobbies, internships, or training mentioned in the CV. Following this one should be well known with the course related subjects like Data Structure, Algorithms, OS, DBMS, etc.

The interviewer wants to test whether everything mentioned in the CV is foolproof and whether you will have in-depth knowledge regarding the subjects and the language dealt with during engineering. Students can also be expected to write codes of the language written in the CV in the interview.

STRONG POINTS

To get selected in the top MNCs companieswith a higher package, you will have to do extra things that others are not doing, overall you will have to make yourself strong in one of the procedures listed above.  Whether it’s technical, aptitude, or communication.

My strong point was my technical “I targeted Java popular high-level, class-based, object-oriented programming language, it’s a core concept, DSA”.

I used the Leetcode platform for campus placement preparation and to enhance my programming skills.

Technical is one of the many things to select in the companies but to qualify in the written test you will have to be strong on aptitude too and to present your knowledge and answer the interviewer questions, your communication should be good. For this, the training session on aptitude and English communication of SDBC played a vital role in achieving the placement opportunity with Microsoft.

So yes, this is my placement story. Thanks for reading!!
